Desde o dia 28 de novembro de 2008 formalizou-se a parceria entre o INSS e a Cooper Glicério para realizar a coleta seletiva de 11 postos do INSS na região central de São Paulo.
Em um mês foram coletados 2.890 kilos de material reciclável; entre papel branco, papelão, plásticos e ferro, gerando uma receita total de R$950,00, que foi dividido entre os 35 catadores da Cooper Glicério.
A parceria entre o INSS e a Cooper Glicério é conseqüência do Decreto Presidencial nº 5.940/2006, que instituiu oficialmente a coleta seletiva na administração pública federal e sua destinação a associações e cooperativas de catadores de materiais recicláveis.
Para formalizar a parceria com o INSS a Cooper Glicério contou com o apoio técnico do Fórum de Desenvolvimento Local do Glicério, através da Fundação Orsa e do Instituto Viva Melhor, organizações participantes do Fórum que auxiliaram a cooperativa durante toda a negociação.
